The standing Avalokiteshvara is the Bodhisattva
(dedicated to becoming a buddha for the sake of all beings)
of compassion. Being a savior and protector he is
considered the most popular among Tibetans. The
Dalai Lamas are believed to be his incarnations.
His invocation is Om mani padme hum.
